Job Title: Administration Clerk
Department: Administration
Description: An extremely varied and busy role. Full training will be provided on all aspects of the position.

Duties Include
  • Assisting with morning post (collecting / opening letters / date stamping / scanning)
  • Collecting and distributing internal post throughout the day
  • Franking all outgoing mail
  • Administration support (ordering and distributing stationery, photocopying, data entry etc)
  • Running errands (collecting packages, daily bank run)
  • Ensure general tidiness of the reception area and meeting rooms
  • Preparing client drinks and taking client identification
  • Additional duties as and when for File Archivist and Health & Safety Officer
Requirements: We are looking for a motivated team player with a can do attitude. The right candidate must be able to work on their own initiative, have excellent communication skills, basic IT skills, a professional telephone manner and most importantly an outgoing, enthusiastic and flexible approach.

Job Title: Residential Conveyancer (Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, Legal Executive or Legal Assistant)
Department: Residential Property
Description: Acting for clients in the following:
  • sales and purchase of freehold, leasehold, new build and shared ownership properties
  • selling and buying at auction
  • Re-mortgages
  • Transfers of equity
  • Sales and purchases of part
  • Drafting statutory declarations, deeds of covenant, Notice of Transfer and charge
  • Dealing with all aspects from instructions through to post completion
Requirements: We are looking for a motivated team player with a customer-focused attitude. The right candidate will have excellent communication and IT skills to go along with experience in a breath of residential property transactions.
Training will be provided if necessary in working on a case management system (including a case tracking system with clients using automated text messaging / emailing and WEB interface) and digital dictation.

Training Contracts

All graduates at Bakewells begin their career as a Legal Clerk, Legal Administrator or Legal Secretary. After working for a minimum of 12-24 months and subject to satisfactory performance, you may be offered a Training Contract.
